Microsoft Will Acquire Ad Company AQuantive

After reading over this article it felt like this was not Microsoft's first choice. They felt like the needed to do something so went for what they could get. But on the contrary it will be nice for Microsoft to have their own advertising company. Microsoft is clearly unhappy about Google getting double click. But thats life.

3rd edit for Knee Boarding

In this edit I add another step by step instruction of a somewhat difficult. The edit is as follows:

Switch 3 - The switch 3 is basically a wake 360 back except that you change the direction of rotation after 180 degrees. Make a hard cut toward the wake with a palms down grip. When you reach the trough, spin around 180 degrees. Rotate to the left if you're cutting to the right and rotate to the right if you're cutting to the left. Tuck the handle into your hip. Ride up the wake while resisting it to get a good pop. Once you are in the air and not sooner, spin back to the front. As you come around, keep the handle low and let your arms extend out. Once you reach the forward position, pull the handle to your waist again and spin backward in the opposite direction. Land backwards and use your second pop to spin back to the front. It's very important to keep the handle at your waist and your head up when landing.

For my second Seaford high school edit i added their academic standards to their wiki page. The edit is as follows:

2nd Kneeboarding wiki post

For my second post on the Kneeboarding page I added a step by step guide on how to complete a trick that I have wondering how to accomplish for some time now. The trick is called a back roll. You hit the wake and essentially do a barrel roll over the entire wake. The edit is as follows:

13.) Back Roll - Make a hard cut toward the wake. One millisecond before you hit the wake, flatten out. Ride up the wake while resisting it (see wake jump). At the top of the wake, and not before, throw your shoulders sideways in the direction of your roll. At the same time, look back over your shoulder and pull the handle to your waist. Your momentum will take you around and then you just need to land. If you are coming up short, you are most likely throwing the trick too soon, letting your arms out, bending at the waist, or not throwing the trick sideways. One of my articles was deleted from the widipedia database. This makes me sad because it was about the place I work. So I still need to edit 3 articles to complete the course work for this class so i edited the page for the Seaford High school in Seaford DE. The edit verbatim is as follows:

Pay-per-action beta test

This article is pretty cool. It talks about a new way of trying to control click fraud. The way this program works is different levels of involvement from the user can generate more money. an example he article gives is say a user just fills out a survey that would be worth x amount of dollars. If a click leads to a sale it would be worth more. The name of this type of program is called conversation tracking. Conversation tracking is set up by Google AdWords. I think this is a pretty cool invention that will defiantly help combat click fraud.

This article is pretty crazy. It's pretty wild to think that google has people watching the internet that closley. I think what is really amazing is how fat BMW fixed the problem. I wonder how many visitors they lost durring their time on the the Black Lsit?

Google vs. Viacom

I figured this would be a good topic to talk about in a blog post. This is a very controversial topic! I can see valid points for both sides. Google the company is clearly not purposely violating the law. Their goal is not to steal people copyrighted work. They just provide a service that happens to be very popular. It is kind of similar to the Napster situation a few years ago. Napter wasn't uploading all of its content the public was. But when you look at it from the other side Viacom is losing money because people get to see their material for free. It's not fair to the people who made this material or for the people who own the rights to the material. It's a double edge sword. In the future i can see youtube being a site that users will have to pay money to be a part of. The is probably going to be the only win-win situation.

We were instructed to blog a vanity search of ourselves for this class so here is mine. There used to more stuff about the band i am in. As a matter of fact my band website used to come up. www.chowderfoot.com But i am not sure why it doesn't any more. Oh well.

My Second Wiki edit

I just made my second Wikipedia edit. I created an article on the place that i work at home. The Place i work is called Seaford Music. It is a mom and pop style music store. This is my first edit to the page and it was done just to get the article rolling. There is a couple of errors but its early in the morning i will fix them tomorrow. My First Wiki Edit

I just made my first Wikipedia edit. The article I chose to edit is on Seaford Delaware, wich is my home town. decided to make an edit on the Today page. I added that Seaford has been nationally recognized and in 2005 Relocated America named it one of the top 100 places to live. You can see my edit here.

After attending class for the first couple of weeks I realize that blogs have become an important part of today's business environment. At first it doesn't seem like one person can have a major impact in today's marketing world but through the use of blogs a single individual can create an information portal that is viewed my hundreds or even thousands. I am excited to see how we as marketing majors can do this.
